A Boot Us

Two Girls.

We're a small bee farm in the salt marshes of Cow Bay, Nova Scotia. We are first generation beekeepers... Granny wasn't one for farm life.

Founded on a deep respect for animals, and a love of learning, our practices reflect a bee-first approach; sustainable harvesting, integrated pest management, and pesticide-free forage.

Every product we sell—is a product we use. Over time, we’ve refined our techniques, honed our materials, and perfected the details so that what leaves our hands is something we’re proud to put our name on. We hope you like it too!

Partners in life, dogs, and bees - Anne & Chloe

Two Dogs.

Dickie and Autumn, our two pups—Hungarian Viszlas. Helpers extraordinaire ... kinda. They don't love bees, but they provide a lot of emotional support after a long day's work. Bred for hunting game fowl, these pups prefer long walks on the beach, rolling in stinky treasures, and muckin' through the marshes. Covered in mud and sand, they can be found lounging on new upholstery or stretched out in fresh sheets.

From their eye for filth, and their taste for luxury—was born the Marshproof Collection.

2.2M Bees.

We started beekeeping in 2019 with two hives... They both died. We took a year off, wiped our tears, put our egos aside, and got back to it. Our goal is to maintain 50 hives locally to Cow Bay. Our bees forage freely among the salt marsh wildflowers and local farms, sometimes you can even find them at the beach, pollinating the untamed Atlantic coastline.
